Christmas Lights Wride, Wednesday December 17

Posted by Charles on December 16, 2014

Save the Date! Wednesday, December 17 marks the return of Passion’s Christmas Lights Wride! Plan to meet at Passion that night with your well lit up bike and join us for a parade paced ride over to the fabulously decorated houses on Eucalyptus Street in San Carlos. Along the way, we will detour past some fancy displays in Belmont as well. This ride rolls along at a slow, social pace and is open to all ages, and we will be splitting the group into one each longer and shorter route to Eucalyptus, for those that want to ride just a little bit more, or do the family friendly distance. Please do make sure if you bring your kids with you, that they have some experience riding in traffic and bring lots of lights.

The ride starts at 7:30 sharp, but our friends from Peruchi will be setting up their truck by 6:30, offering the finest blend of Peruvian and Chinese healthy, nutritious, and tasty cuisine. Come early to get a map, grab a bite off the truck, and enjoy some good company in Passion’s Lounge before the ride.

This year we will have a full 8 mile route, and a slightly shorter route for families. Both groups will meet up just before the peak of the light show, and all will return to the shop after about two hours for warm beverages and sweet treats. I expect and encourage themed costumes and festively lit up bikes. Belmont Police Department will be rolling us out again this year, with a lit up escort across El Camino, then again at Ralston onto 6th, where we can meet the shorter ride at Twin Pines Park. The map will be finalized soon and published here, plus handed out that night. This is a free event, and Passion will be hosting a post Wride happy hour in the Lounge with seasonal spirits. Please feel free to bring a Christmassy dessert to share either post ride or while we are out, and some cash for the food truck if you want to sample Dan and Maricela’s wares . Start daydreaming now about decorations and shopping for lights for your centerpiece. I like to start here in the Christmas Battery Light catalog at 1000bulbs.com.
